Just a few pictures that I took of my town, Wigan in Lancashire (NOT Greater Manchester, it's Lancashire and always will be!!!!). Mainly taken around the Haigh and the Leeds Liverpool canal area. It is an area of exceptional beauty and brimming with historical points of interest if you know where to look.

Thanks for sharing. As an ex resident (now living overseas) it's much appreciated. Hopefully I will be back to live there shortly. For me, it has been a case of "you don't know what you've got until it's gone". Greece or Wigan ? Give me Wigan any day.

The town would well and truly be buggered if we were part of Lancashire Council. Greater Manchester has better transport and more money than New Lancashire.

But there is no such place as 'Greater Manchester'. Wigan was always Lancashire and always will be!
