I love this awesome video of the unprecedented violent, tornadic-Tstorm you got back on THU 9/16/10.....huge thunderclaps heard right thru the thick-closed windows too...with vivid lighting...love your video-commentaries too..plus the distant view of the huge Tstorm cloud.....with residual lightning. **Until 9/16/10**....NYC/vicinity only had few good 2010-Tstorms...but here in southern RI...I did get lotsa good Tstorms on video...all on YouTube..6/5/10, 6/28/10, 7/19/10, and 7/24/10..

Finally, a video of the wall cloud.. NOt bad. I don't see any rotation clearly but you got a wall cloud... Look, in the future hold the camera steady and pan back a bit when you are videoing severe weather. It's what happens between the ground and cloud base that counts. Tornadoes are on teh ground, not just in teh clouds. Still, not a bad effort, your video is the only actual video of the real severe weather. All the others just show wind and rain.

Thanks. just to let you know I didnt know at the time that this cloud was producing a tornado. I saw the lightning strikes from the clouds tho and that's why Im zoomed in to that cloud. if you look closely you can see the lightning in that dark cloud. It was about 10 minutes later that I watched WABC-TV's Eyewitness news and they described some circulation in those clouds and knew this was possibly a tornado. Plus Im still new at recording videos but hopefully I'll get better at it

i wish i was in nyc when this happened. i love this weather. september is a little late for all this action though, don't you think?

yea stuff like this usually happens during july and august. The storms on the radar didnt appear intense until they suddenly blossomed around 5 PM on the radar. WABC 7's Lee Goldberg (who is my personal favorite new york local meteorologist) explains that because it was sunny across the 5 boroughs for the morning and early afternoon, it allowed for the added heat to fuel these storms, which caused devastating damage in Brooklyn and Queens!!!!

I've watched it again.... Look at the far left starting at 4:25 in your video... There's an actual funnel in there.

yup, this storm did devastating damage toward some sections of brooklyn and queens and only last about a half hour or so. where i was in the bronx, it only lasted about 20 minutes but besides the torrential rain, we were spared greatly from this. And this storm just came out of nowhere!!!!!
