RASANBLE! Haitian Arts & Cultural Festival will take place in Oakland, Ca. July 23-25, 2010. The event will showcase Haitian music, dance cuisine, language, art, crafts and other traditions. RASANBLE! will bring to the the Bay Area new and returning celebrated Haitian artists to engage with students, artists, community leaders, scholars and supporters of Haiti. Specific activities will include: master folkloric dance classes, Vodou song class, drum circle, kreyol language course, presentations with key note speakers, documentaries, and a performance showcase. The proposed festival will celebrate, make visible, and inform participants of the rich cultural traditions that are the foundation of Haitian culture.
