Irish HARDSHOES are not called hornpipes. They are called Hardshoes, Heavies, or jig shoes. If you did find and ID school, they would start you in Softshoe (also known as LIGHTS, Reel shoes, or gillies). and I'm assuming you bought your hardshoes to fit your fit right now? When you dance in them they will stretch and no longer fit your feet.

You guys rocks. I tap (quite poorly) and bought a pair of hornpipes (Irish dance shoes) when I was in Ireland and there are no schools around here to learn. lol First learned of Irish dancing on the OLD Tonight Show with Johnny Carson back in 1989 and have been wanting to learn it since. You two ROCK!
