hi, my name is Mr. Devaughan Gayle. I am a 25 year old who has a great passion to become a children's illustrator. i was wondering if it was possible that you could help me by pointing me in the right direction to achieve this goal?
what is the best way I could get involved in this type of industry ???

Are you working with a Cintique?

@susanmiller1 No, I am not drawing directly onto a screen. I am drawing with my hands and tablet on my lap, looking at my monitor. Takes a bit of getting used to, but it has worked out nicely for me. What you want to look for in a tablet is the "pen pressure sensitivity". The higher the number, the more fluidly the digital drawing/painting process will be. My current tablet/pen has 1400 levels of pressure sensitivity, I purchased it in 2006 (w Corel Paint X included) for $149. Works Great!
