@leswife hi, mind if i ask how long it took your pom to get back to normal after stopping the treats? im afraid my pom is suffering from the same thing, so i put a stop to that 2 days ago and gonna start feeding her natural treats like bananas or slices of apple. i also decided to switch her dog food to a hollistic type dog food which is grain free, instead of iams. thanks in advance if you respond.

@leswife FYI grapes are poisonous to dogs!!! Please do a search online for this information and see for yourself before it's too late!

where he pulled up the x-rays he took immediately on the computer, they were so clear and he could zoom in on the details of everything. Anyway, what he discovered was that she has a very small gap filled with liquid or air or nothing, I'm not quite sure, along her spine. It was a very small parting that was black on the image. Anyway, so he said it looks like whatever that is is pinching her nerve.

My 5 month old pom has had 3 of these "episodes" and I was wondering if you ever figured out what was causing Niko's episodes?

How is Niko doing now? hope he's better !
my husband and i just saw our pom do the same thing and i have always wondered if the saying was true about over feeding your pets the types of treats that are listed. He has recently had a rawhide several to be honest he loves the little bones and he also eats the dingo treats I will never purchased either again we were both so scared and not sure what was going on. he is now back to normal.??????

We are still trying to work out what is making Niko have his attacks-- there seems to be a 18 day interval. We took away the treats (dingos etc.) and also changed his diet to Eukanuba Lamb and Rice, which is supposed to be seriously better gastronomically. We also removed some of his toys which were made in China due to possible lead being in the paint (lead will cause some dogs to have seizures). For treats he eats vegetables such as sweet potato strips (reg potatoes can also cause seizures)

He also likes frozen sweet peas. We quit giving him treats which have dairy, protein, and wheat/grain. If you try feeding your dog vegetables and fruits make sure you look it up. Don't give them regular potatoes, onions, grapes etc.
Unfortunately its an issue of trial and error (the vet hasn't been able to figure it out). He is totally normal for periods of 18 days then he will have an attack. Maybe removing the toys will solve it (we just did that two days ago).
