I've been trying to figure out the best way to capture video from my hd xr1200, while preserving the looks of the motorcycle (no fixed apparatus), making it simple, as well as having a good sound restitution. I tried a few things, but the use of a Manfrotto head and superclamp seems to do it rather well for my camcorder. In this case the steering angle is unaffected, the overall balance of the bike doesn't seem to change, and the viewing angle looks right to me.

  • Thanks, I do try to document my experiments on onboard motorcycle filming. On this video I actually broke the superclamp camera adapter (seems there was a bubble in the metal construction of the peg, so I just had a few minutes of actual filming with that setting). On the next video I got that straightened out, now I need to find a better way to capture the sound without the wind noise, and then I'll try to share some fun routes linked to Google-map itineraries. :)
