My sons 2nd grade class is having the kids show some kind of talent to their classmates. My son decided to do his project on archery. This is the video he did with his Diamond Edge. If you notice, the second arrow strikes the back of his first arrow in the part recorded from behind him.

  • Just an update. JD won the Delaware IBO championships, took 2nd in the Maryland IBO championships. He went to an IBO national and took 4th, then went to the IBO world championship and took 25th. We went to the 4-H state championships two weeks ago. He is 11 now and shooting in the 11 to 14 year old intermediate class. He won both competitions, field and 3-D. He also had the highest scores out of all three classes including the 15-18 year old class. He has come a long way in 4 years.

  • We went to the state 4-H match. He shot a 339 out of 360 for FITA field for 1st place in the state. He also shot 3-D and took 2nd in the state.

If you can't get the peep sight in take it to a shop with a press. You will want to have it served in (tied in) after it is placed in the string. Good luck with archery, it is a lot of fun. Don't be ashamed of using the same bow. It is a great bow, I shot it during a league this summer.

  • Update: He won a youth 3-D tournament back in May, out of 18 shooters. He will be going to the 4-H state competition on October 8th & 9th. He shot a 182 on a 20 target 3-D course from the hunters stake (not youth) 3 weeks ago, and finished 7th out of 16 in an adult archery league in August. His equipment is now a 50lb Mission Maniac, QAD dropaway, Extreme sight, and GT arrows. We are now getting ready for the hunting season. Looking at going to the IBO shoots next year.

  • what weight is he shooting on? im in 8th grade and have mine set on 45 and cant be that accurate!

  • At that time he was shooting 30 pounds. He is up to 40 pounds now and will be staying there for a while. If your bow seems too hard to pull, back it down until you are comfortable. Better to be accurate than over bowed. ;-)

  • hostage rest are amazing. he have the wisker biscuit?

  • He is on a Wisker biscuit now on his bow.

  • i got that same bow and i will never trade it it's been really good for me killed a lot of things with it

  • Nice man ur better than me

  • this kid sights in quicker than the actual hunter ive seen

  • nice job jd

  • great shootin kid, but dad when he draws back dont let him look like robin hood and slowly bring the bow down as he draws. at any point there he could accidentally release and shoot the arrow very far. instead have him slowly bring it up its far less dangerous and helps with form

  • there is not going to be a hole in the deer and u shold tell him that

  • compound bows are cheaters bows they have sights and shit use a recurve bow
