Final fantasy 8 practice dub: It's starting

Enjoy my first attempt of an FF8 dub. One of my favourite scenes, the assassination of Edea. BTW, this was a practice for a dub, we have improved a LOT since this, so don't judge us by this.

You may notice I had to cut a bit out for time saving and file size, thats why Squall and Irvine are in the parade then they are in the clock tower a few seconds later. Forgive me!

The story so far..
Squall Leonhart, Zell Dincht, Quistis Trepe and Selphie Tilmitt, members of elite mercenary unit SeeD, have been contracted by underground resistance unit Timber owls to help remove the corrupt President Deling from power over Galbadia, the dominant military superpower in the world. They head to Galbadian occupied town Timber to meet the rebels. Rinoa Heartilly, one of the resistance, joins them in an attempt to kidnap the president and issue their demands. The operation fails when they kidnap a decoy instead. Then they hear that the president is about to make an important announcement using television, which has not been used for over 17 years. While heading to the newly renovated TV station, the broadcast starts, and they stop to watch. The president announces that he intends to appoint a sorceress, named Edea, to act as his ambassador to other nations. This is bad news; not only would the evil Edea use Deling as a puppet, but when she officially assumes power, which is inevitable, she will want nothing less than world domination, and with the worlds dominant military superpower at her disposal, thats not hard to achieve. The broadcast is cut short however, when Seifer, a failed applicant for SeeD, Squalls rival and Rinoas old boyfriend, breaks into the station and holds the president hostage, partly for a sense of self worth, partly to nurse his bruised ego after failing to be accepted by SeeD, and partly out of a sense of competition with the successful SeeDs.
The sorceress Edea then secretly appears to him and corrupts Seifers mind into thinking he is her Knight and destined to protect her. He follows her gladly, and is presumed dead by all for his crimes against the president.
General Caraway of Galbadia then intervenes and concocts a plan for dispatching the sorceress, unwilling to be party to her schemes. First, they meet up with cocky Galbadian sniper Irvine Kinneas, then they head to Deling city, the capital of Galbadia. The sorceress is planning a parade to celebrate her ascension to an ambassadorial position. The party will split up into two groups; the gateway group (Zell, Quistis and Selphie), and the sniping group (Squall and Irvine, although Rinoa unexpectedly joins them later) The sorceress will give a speech at the presidential palace, then ride in the parade though the grand Deling Arch, at which point a magnificent clock tower will rise out of the palace behind her. The archway group will infiltrate the archway via the sewers; the sniping group will infiltrate the presidential palace, and find the sniper rifle hidden inside the dormant clock tower. When the sorceress passes through the archway, the archway group will activate the gates, trapping her in the arch. When the clock tower rises (taking the sniping team with it) Irvine will assassinate her with the rifle. The parade takes an unexpected turn when Edea kills president Deling, and insists that the parade continue regardless. This makes her assassination imperative to stopping her rise to power..

yayyyyyyy awesome....I am an actual(i Do theatre for a proffesion and hope to voice and do film) actor and wish they could bring this to life...wish I had a mike......i WOULD TOTALLY HELP you guys.....awesome job....squall in the begining got me siked...I am moving to london from the u.k. soon to attempt a career there and try and get into the drama schools

Wow, Irvine. The first line you spoke, I was like "What? I hope he's better on the next ones." And then when I heard you next and heard the line again, I was like "Whoa! That works perfectly!" You make a unique Irvine. I was looking for a different voice, but man. It worked great :)

Squall, nice job.

And Rinoa, you have a very fitting voice for the part. Can you try to speak up a bit, though? I loved everyone. Great work! We are SEED!

Thanks. overall, I was quite pleased with how it went, except I had to use a camera to record my lines, cos my microphone broke, that's why i sound quite distant. I think a full length movie would really work like this.

i liked squalls voice, irvin .. mm sounds a bit too ready you know, reading off a paper.

Didn't like Rinoa's voice at alll.

Everybody was wonderful, but Rinoa doesnt seem right. She is a happy and energetic spirit, and the voice actress just sounds like shes ready to kill herself

The Squall do good... but he is to fast.... but from the voice and feeling one of the best squalls i know....

Zell... he have to do harder.... this incoming "yeah" what he done sometimes need lot of power.. he isnt adult.... he is a hard youngster.....

Irvine: he is to replaceble... but he is from Squar enix not only a sidekick.. he is one important and realy hard to handle charachter... he DO cool but in real he is scared...

Riona: need to train harder... but is good....

Irvine's voice was pretty good. So was Zell's. Squall and Rinoa sounded way too old (Remember, they're both only 17) Otherwise, you guys did a very good job :)

Not that it would ever happen. But I always thought Squalls voice would sound like Edward Norton. Nortons narration in Fight Club was great. And Nortons charcter in the movie was dark and emo. But the sound to grown up. Get younger people.
