  • good luck with this. what's that bar at the top of the screen?

  • Hey Matt

The bar at the top of the screen is a weapon energy meter.

You can now download and play Nebulon from the Creators.XNA website (it's in playtest).

Would love to get your feedback.

  • just wrote about your game in a forum, and remembered i wrote to you here. my feedback would be simple changes to be made (but i wouldn't be surprised if your reaction to this is that making these changes is changing your game in a way you do not wish to do), but here goes anyway:

    1) regular dual-stick shooter controls.

    2) no internia.

    3) faster fire (makes aiming easier).

    4) somewhat of spread shot but default (makes aiming easier).

    5) no weapon power enery metter, infinite energy.

  • Cool, on what forum did you put your original comment?

  • It's a post process effect.

I render particles to a texture in greyscale, and then feed that, along with the scene buffer, into a post process shader that does some simple refraction of the image based on the greyscale data.

Simple stuff, but the effect is nice.

  • The mouse controls were only ever put in for PC testing.

  • I'm really curious on how did you get the particle effects to blend in with the background like that? ^^

It looks so sweet and I really want to learn how! ^^

  • apologies for the spelling errors lol (*inertia, meter, etc.)

  • It was on "The Next Level", in the community games thread. Someone had already commented that your game had hopes but the controls were bad. I was actually quite disappointed about this, because the technology behind your game was very promising. I responded there before even playing (I have played it now) because I already knew I would not have that "total control" I was expecting from a standard dual-stick shooter.

Curious, was this game originally a mouse-controlled PC game?

  • i thought about writing this to you personally, but i'd love to hear what other think about this, too...
