Nice example of now a rare transceiver, saved this one from the scrap pile.
Made around 1985 in Japan these radios use a mixture of UNIDEN and good old Japanese technology - Probably the first real 10/11 mtr CPU controlled transceiver with all the right features like split frequency operation and memory scan....25 years on and still using original 2SC2312 outputs unlike those junk MOSFET's - Don't make radios like this anymore!

  • @sonicgsxr750 and now i have got another one, nice to have rare stuff, mine is hooked on a silver eagle

  • i had one of these in 1994, but someone wanted it more than me and stole it!! hence i am looking for another one

  • Very nice video! I purchased one of these brand new in the 1980's and I still not only have the original box for it but I still have the original shipping box the whole thing came in to me with and to this day, the radio still looks brand new with no scratches! This is a "smokin" ole radio! 10 or 12 years ago, I put it up and now I only use it as a backup now but as Charles Heston said in the movie Planet of the apes, The only way you will get this radio is from my cold dead hands!... Ha!!!

  • ive got 2 of them, both 20 watt version with green led's in excellent condition. i'll swap one for a ham jumbo mark 3 in perfect condition.

  • thanks for the quick reply weazle66.....much appreciated....hope to catch you latter...

    thanks agian...

  • These were and still are fantastic 10mt rigs. They are very well constructed. I sold the radio years ago.. I have kicked myself many times for doing so.. I had the 100w Model with a Green LED display which was not common for a Ar3500. It also had a 4pin Mic jack. Battery Mod, and a Very low Pitched Roger Beep.. (Bloop), to say the least it was the best 10mt rig that I ever owned. I sold it to buy a mobile amplifier 350w that i used with another rig.. Chip Switch Hr2510.. long time ago... (-:
