  • Thanks for posting this! I was there, in the audience, on a beautiful summer day. The Ontario Place Forum, revolving stage and all, right beside Lake Ontario. It was some of the best music and I was so lucky to hear it live.

  • @namtil i am envious.... Jaco died about 3 months after i heard of him.....that must have been such a heavy concert. and boy do i miss the Forum. such a great venue.

    cheers

  • 0:27 Looks like Jaco turns to Erskine and says, "Sorry buddy, Mintzer's tryin to kill me." Maybe Bob's intro was set at a faster tempo than usual. Jaco still nails it (no surprise there). Thanks for posting this great vid.

  • ...when i originally posted this video , at that point ,i put a word bubble above Jaco saying, "shit Pete, i forgot my crack pipe in the green room.." but someone got offended so i took the bubble off .

  • in the 80's I was at rehearsals in tokyo when jaco challenged alias to a slap fight, alias slapped the shit outa him and told me never fuck with a drummer, we make our living with our hands :-) RIP my brothers

  • Le parole non bastano per far capire la sua grandezza nel suonare il basso..............

  • whos the guy with the rainbow colors hes fun

  • Demais!!! Muito bom!!!

  • @mistersloppy Hello - Yes, the Forum was a wonderful setting for a lot of good concerts. I was lucky to catch many of them - a case of right place, right time. If I remember correctly, Jaco's concert that day was the conclusion of a triple bill that included the Buddy Rich Big Band and the Oscar Peterson Trio. For a couple of tunes, Buddy came out and sat in with Oscar, whose trio included Niels Henning Orsted Pederson! It was a great day for bass players and for everyone in attendance.

  • When I hear people who ged angry at others for calling Jaco a great player; it reminds me of why I think that he was: He ahad his voice on the instrument, and he spoke his songs, through that voice. If you are never willing to let your opinion be heard, this makes you mediocre!

I have heard some very "out front" players, who had nothing worth hearing to say, on their instruments, but Jaco, was hardly ever in that place!

His 'voice", allowed others, to speak their oipinons, as well!

  • @mistersloppy hahahaa thats funny!
