I'm just in awe of her intelligence. She has put forth her points articulately and without aggression, and I myself feel more educated having watched this.

is it just me or does the interviewer not understand anything Mayim said, because she kept on asking the same question over and over again

civilized means coming to a better understanding of life and each other, not stopping nature. There is no better way to feed our children. research it or ask any health professional and they will tell you it's the most nutritious (physically and mentally) thing to give your child. Go learn the benefits and you'll be shocked what it does and prevents that nothing man-made in this world possibly can do

Civilized? Are you implying that because we're smarter than other mammals, we shouldn't follow inferior mammal practices? We have other ways of having babies altogether, so I guess according to the logic of your argument we should stop having sex and just use the practice of artificial insemination?

No, the problem is people buy into the concept that their boobs were meant for feeding when actually we are civilized people who have other ways of feeding our kids so why not use them?? If you want to ruin your boobs fine go ahead

This mindset of breasts being designed for sexual purposes is really the underlying issue when it comes to a lot of these social judgements. Its not breastfeeding in public that needs to be removed. Its the over sexualization of breasts that needs to be removed. We treat breasts like they only belong in gentleman magazines and porn films. No wonder we're having this debate. Its a two sided debate. 1 side is educated and doesn't sexualize breasts, the other is uneducated and overly sexual.

I think the sexualization of female breasts is what needs to be removed from public. That would solve a lot more issues, whereas not breast feeding in public only solve one problem... to appease the uneducated and sexualized minds.

I totally agree with Mayim. I would like to try this with my child. I dont care what other people think cause this is a logical argument.

A newborn child thats less thank 5 months old should not be out and about outdoors all the time, thats just common sense. And yes a mother breastfeeding her child should stay at home with her child, thats her responsibility and that also prevents the child from Pneumonia and influenza. A new born child immune system isn't strong and if you bring a child outdoors, his/her resistents will go up.

Sit in a house nearly all day? Oh come on will you. So a child needs to be breastfed every 10 minutes do they?

    It's just rubbish.

    I'm of the same opinion.

It puzzles me why some mothers think it's in their right to breastfeed wherever they like. You don't change diapers on the street corner or outside a café either..
