Launch and recovery of two TA-4J aircraft from VC-10, with some formation flying and some 1-v-1 maneuver training. Converted from Super-8 movie film. First third is silent, rest has sound. Filmed in October 1978. Pilot-in-command was LCDR Chapman, lead aircraft was LCDR Noonan.

  • Sweet!!! I was in vc 10 from 87-90 ordnance shop. I have some videos Ill try and post soon.

  • Glad that you liked it!

To the best of my recollection (and according to my logbook), that flight was (probably) on November 18, 1978, with the PIC being LT Chapman, and the flight lead being LCDR Noonan. After all these years, that is about all I can remember about it, other than it being a routine 1-V-1 training flight.

  • @mrp0208 Please post your videos if you haven't already. I was there from 86-88 as a dependent and watched the Skyhawks just about every day. I never got to see them do their "pop up" pattern from Kittery Beach but always wanted to.

  • I was a Seabee at both the NAVSTA GTMO and NAS Leeward Point back in the very early '80's. Seeing this brought back memories as I had friends in VC10.

  • Loved it! Can't wait for more!
