How to play NTSC/J,& PAL Games on a NTSC Dreamcast without a mod chip Tutorial

This is a tutorial to show you how to play PAL games on a NTSC dreamcast in other words play Japanese,european,chinese,UK ect. games on a US system This is very easy to accomplish and it takes just a few mins of your time.

step 1. download utopia bootdisk here-

step 2.download discjugglar here-

step 3. extract the UtopiaALL.rar with winrar

and open the new UtopiaALL file go to file that says [DC] Utopia BootDisk v1.3 [CDI].rar and extract it now open that file

step 4. copy the Utopia DC BootDisk v1.3.cdi to the root of your C:\ drive and rename it boot.cdi

step 5. open discjugglar click new and then click burn disk images

step 6.under source type this C:\boot.cdi
click advanced under mode click mode 2 under block click 2352 and under misc. check RAW write

step 7.under method make sure your write speed is at 4x or 8x and this it is important to write it at a low speed dont worry it wont take long. then next click start and your done congrats. you are now a owner of a Utopia boot disk you can now play and region games on your dreamcast.

step 8. insert utopia in dreamcast and turn on when the utopia screen boots take out your boot disk and insert your game have fun :)

discjugglar wont go lower than 10x speed for me, did i extract it wrong or something?

do u have any legit cdi's on ur hardrive that you could send me? none seem to work elsewhere online they are all broken files when u open with winrar there is no cd with a piece of papaer behind it

@insanebeatjunkie personally, i use alchohol and it works fine now. Burn slow speed, allow overburn in RAW DAO. also, if you burn .cdi files, it should auto boot if your on the right region, everything else : (isos, pal .cdi jap .cdi and some other weird formats like .mdsf) you need utopia to boot.

@450greetz i used raw dao i used raw sao in alcohol n no matter wat i use the burned games never work i wonder what the issue is my game was manufactured sept 99 is it that disc jugglar has a better code writer than alcohol whats the deal

my utopia doesn't boot any cds burnt with alcohol soft ... they are all .cdi ... they boot just fine but i'm wondering if my utopia cd isn't working because nothing boots with it ... if i get shenmue II (pal) version is it gonna boot? it's a .cdi too ...

@Pugslee3 Most games but some have extra/different fetures. for and example on the gamecube pokemon channel in NTSC had E-reader support but in PAL you got a free jarachi insted :P
