I think one of the most wholesome ways of dealing with reincarnation-critics is to explain it as irrelevant. Since our practice is an ultimate aspiration, is has full meaning independent of time frame. If we don't have another life, don't have another year or don't have another moment -- it doesn't really matter, because it's all about now.
By the way, you can find a talk with Venerable Dhammadipa about no-self and reincarnation on Google Video. Very calm, deep-minded monk; check out. :o)
