  • best buicks til 84 so sad they started to make cheap V6 fwd cars.

  • @aldaloo3 I agree! V8, RWD Buicks are the BEST! Thanks.

  • Is the Buck Century a POPULAR car in Japan?

  • @fillmore593 Centuries are popular among surfers in Japan but not among regular users but some people cherish them because the car have the look of an American traditional statio wagon yet is easy to drive even here in Japan.

  • @aldaloo3 Intercooled makes a good difference. I do agree V8s sound pretty sick, even my 307 '85 Riviera had a boss grumble at idle and low RPM and that engine was in terrible shape.

  • @RivieraKid34 it was not intercooled as i remember.yet the V8 sounds way much better dont you agree?

  • @aldaloo3 Was your friend's 3.8 intercooled? The 350 is a great engine, cheap with plenty of parts and easy to tune. The 3.8 Turbos are more difficult. They don't have the parts or the cheap price, plus they have to be tuned just right. I've seen videos of 3.8 Turbos beating C4 corvettes, Gen4 F-bodies and Vipers.

  • @RivieraKid34 It was a 3.8 V6 Turbo but he swaped it with a 350 V8 carb. the only 6 cyl. i realy liked was a 4.1 6 inline for a 75 Malibu Classic i used to have and you may find the same engine in 90s chevy D-20 pick up trucks. I have a 93 t-bird 5.0 HO V8 the engine brokedown so i swaped it with 350 V8 as well.

  • @aldaloo3 Just saying an "86 Regal" isn't enough information for me. They came with many options. 3.2 V6, 3.8 V6 NA, 3.8 V6 Turbo, 307 and the 305. I think the 350 was dropped as an option.

The 1987 Buick GNX is hands down the quickest car stock from the 80's. A well tuned GNX or any Turbo 3.8 can beat just about any thing off the line.

  • @RivieraKid34 my friend have a 86 Regal which was rubbish and he swap it with a 350 V8 yet still not like the 70’s full size cars.

  • @aldaloo3 Now don't forget the 85-87 RWD Turbo Regals and GNs.

  • It would be real interesting to cruise around Japan's big cities in a 455 powered boat tail. :D

  • I really like the wheelcovers on your Riviera, not too many have these! LHD cars are legal in Japan? It's funny to see a KM/H speedo on a vintage Buick! Was the odometer graduated in KM too? (my daily driver is a Japan-built Toyota with a MPH speedometer!). Do you know if anything else was different on these export models?

Is it true that cars with more than 100K on their odometer are banned in Japan? I often hear this about people who import JDM cars/parts. Does this apply to vintage cars?
