It's Going To Be Okay - Season 2 Episode 20 Part 1

The next morning, while Kevin and Danielle were in sleeping, Selena, Devin and Nick were in the kitchen eating breakfast. Joe was still upstairs half asleep when Demi entered the kitchen in silence, grabbing a glass of milk from the fridge and sitting at the table*
Demi: (Without looking up from her glass) So how was your date last night?
Selena: (Worried) It was good, thanks for asking.
Nick: Want something to eat?
Demi: (Shakes her head still looking down) Not hungry.
Selena: (Places a plate in front of her face with eggs and potatoes on it) Eat.
Demi: I said I wasnt--
Selena: Eat.
Demi: (Sighs) Fine (Eats all of the food on the plate) Happy?
Selena: Now talk.
Demi: I am talking.
Nick: Demi, whats wrong?
Demi: (Shakes her head) Nothing.
Nick: (Looks at Selena then back at Demi) Yeah, we believe you.
Demi: (Drinks her milk) I had to go to the hospital last night.
Selena: What?! Why?
Demi: False contractions.
Nick: Kind of early isnt it?
Demi: I guess.
Selena: (Looks at Nick) Babe, would you mind giving Devin his bath?
Nick: Of course (Takes Devin upstairs)
Demi: (Starts to cry) He He hit me last night, Sel.
Selena: What?
Demi: (Nods, crying into her hands) I dont know whats happening. Its like ever since we got married all we do is argue about something. A couple weeks ago we were talking about how I thought things would be different then they were, and he took it the wrong way. He kind of ended up pushing me and I fell onto the bed.
Selena: Im going to kill him.
Demi: (Shakes her head) And then last night, he wanted to have sex but I wasnt in the mood. So when I told him to stop he got frustrated with me.
Selena: So he slapped you because?
Demi: I told him that if he wanted it that bad he should call Taylor.
Selena: (Sighs) Oh, sweetie, come here (Pulls her into a hug)
Demi: (Cries into her shoulder) I dont know whats wrong with me, Sel.
Selena: Dem, theres nothing wrong with you. Its Joe who has the problem.
Demi: I wish I never got pregnant. I think he only married me because he felt he had to. He doesnt love me.
Selena: Demi of course he does. Im not condoning the anger or abuse on his part, because there is not one thing he can say to make it right, but honey he does love you. Im just not sure whats wrong with him.
Demi: Me either.
Selena: Its going to be okay. Were getting him help before you give birth. Ill be watching closer and if I see any more anger from him then he wont be living here anymore, trust me. Ill get Nick to talk to him.
Demi: (Wiping her face) Thanks Sel.
Selena: Im sorry.
Demi: Its not your fault.
Selena: I know. But still.
Demi: (Nods)

*A few minutes later, Joe came downstairs to see Demi crying onto Selenas shoulder. She immediately wiped her face and sat up straight, hiding the fact that she was becoming more and more afraid of what he might say or do to her*
Joe: (Getting a plate of breakfast) Morning.
Selena: (Harshly) Yep.
Joe: (Looks at her) Whats youre problem?
Selena: Right now, its you.
Demi: Sel
Joe: (Places his food on the table and sits next to Demi)
Demi: I, uh. I need a shower. Have a good day at work Joe (Kisses his cheek quickly and goes upstairs)
Selena: (Stares at Joe)
Joe: I already apologized to her.
Selena: How could you do that to her? Shes your wife, remember? Carrying your children? Did you want her to lose the babies this time around too?
Joe: Of course not.
Selena: I swear Joe, if you ever hurt her like that again, Im going to kill you.
Joe: I get it, okay?
Selena: I dont think you do. But maybe once you start seeing a therapist, maybe you will.
Joe: Im not--
Selena: (Stares at him sternly)
Joe: (Sighs) Fine, Ill make an appointment today.
Nick: (Walks into the kitchen holding Devin) Appointment for what?
Selena: Nothing to worry about, Nick. Ready for work?
Nick: Um, no I just bathed Devin remember?
Selena: Right, well Ill take him to the babysitters and then Ill see you later. If I dont go now Im going to be late. Have a good day.
Nick: (Kisses her and passes Devin to her) Thanks babe, you too.
Selena: (Takes Devin and leaves)
Nick: So, appointment for what?
Joe: (Lying) Just a check up.
Nick: (Not believing him) Alright.
Joe: Well Im off to work too. See you later (Leaves).
Nick: And then there was me (Laughs to himself)
