The flooding of Sleets Gill cave after very heavy rain in North Yorkshire. This is a short clip from a documentary on the River Wharfe in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

  • @TheGoodvideoclips Thanks for the comment. Only 1 camera, a Sony VX2100. More footage inside the cave is available on a 78min documentary on the river Wharfe after its premier at the Grassington Festival.

  • It's a long tight scramble out if there is water pilling up behind you is it not!

  • Not long. It was pure luck really. We went up the previous day in hope that it was flowing, but of course it wasn't. The next day we were ther no more than an hour.

  • I got trapped in this cave in 1992 by flooding and this really brings it home how lucky I was.

  • i went there on tuesday and managed to do hyperthermia passage and hydrophobia passage

  • too true mate. the connecting crawl from the master cave to the upper ramp is bad enough without thinking about it. Looking forward to the documentary. Happy caving.
