so I have had the twist in for about 3 weeks at the time and needed to get my scalp clean. I came up with a game plan and hoped it would work. I mixed up baking soda and water to scrub my scalp with a tooth brush. My scalp was very clean in the end and my hair was nice and shiny after as well

do you mix the shea butter with something else? I don't like the smell neither the gritty consistency.

  • Well you and another yt subscriber just gave me an idea thank you both :D

  • I have a question about this process, do you deep condition when your twists when you cleanse your scalp???? Do you find when you're taking the twists out after doing the scalp cleanses that your hair is starting to loc?

  • @IggyRins obviously

  • @AdjustedSubstance Lol i am subscribed to her channel but you dont have to watch her videos to know about PH Balance that information can be found on the internet just by google : )

  • @IggyRins you watch a lot of kimmaytube dont you?

  • I'm thinking maybe if you tightly coil the twist around those hard plastic rollers overnight ,and sit under a dryer, our use the cool setting on a blow dryer, they may keep their length after washing

  • @PrettyDimples01, While in micro braids I use a mixture of Sea Breeze and Witch Hazel with a few drops of peppermint oil. I sprayed my scalp and hair (extensions) all over. Put on a plastic cap for an hour. Then take a hot wet towel and rub my scalp to get the dirt out and move down to clean my extensions. Hair and scalp was clean and no smell. Braids came out easy because my hair was really moist and great condition.

  • Perhaps after washing. Use a diffuser to dry while stretching the hair to maintain the length?

  • Im wondering if this would have worked better if you used those little cheap plastic sandwich bags (put your braid in the bag), and then bind the top of the bag tightly with rubber bands. You did a good job, and gave me an idea (the one I just mentioned) on how to make this work better. Thanks PD01! :)
