On 26th June, 2010 Partial Lunar Eclipse will occur. Though its visible in umbral phase in north eastern states. Its Visible only during end of the eclipse from rest of the country.
Why Eclipse is visible in Penumbral Phase for rest of India and Umbral Phase for few states In North East? Moon leaves noticeable umbra (actual darkening) at 6.30 p.m..
Compared to major part of the country during this part of the year in the north eastern states, the sunset occurs as early as by around 6.10 p.m. (6.54 p.m in Hyd& Moon Rises around 6.10 p.m. (6.55 pm. In Hyd). Many states Sunset or Moon rise occurs late.
Hence ending of the eclipse is visible from the north-eastern parts of India (Aizwal, Dimpur, Kohima, Nowgong etc..) when the moon is rising near horizon.Whereas rest of the country, by the time it's Sunset,Moon leaves umbra and enters penumbra by 7.51 p.m.Moredetails www.ournewplanets.com
