Mark Morris Dance Group

Celebrating its landmark 30th Anniversary Season, MARK MORRIS DANCE GROUP (MMDG) opens the Dance at the Arsht season with a critically acclaimed repertory of modern dance masterpieces. In its triumphant Adrienne Arsht Center debut, the company brings to Miami for the first time its unique brand of elegant ingenuity, eclectic musicality, communal tenderness and sophisticated wit.

Morris' choreography combines ballet, modern dance and folk dance structure while showcasing the best dancers from around the world. Well-known for its emphasis on live music at every performance, MMDG regularly collaborates with leading orchestras, opera companies, and other artists, including cellist Yo-Yo Ma and dance/choreographer Mikhail Baryshnikov, among others.

The company has been featured in film and television projects which include Dido and Aeneas, The Hard Nut, two documentaries for the U.K.'s "South Bank Show," and PBS' "Live From Lincoln Center," among others.
