Aren't there two railroad lines in Olathe? Two BNSF lines? Which one was this taken on, and what are the names of the different subdivisions?
-
@UPTRAIN so if i want to here horn there i shouyld go there soon.
-
@crazyrailfan I'd say that's pretty accurate before late 2008. Right now it probably hovers around 70-80.

@BNSF9250 As of yesterday, no, it still isn't a quiet zone. However, the "NO TRAIN HORN" signs are installed but not flipped over to where vehicle traffic can see them. Only a matter of time.

how many trains a day go through there and how far apart are they from each other, are they one after another or is like a 45 min wait between trains
crail4ever 1 year ago
@crail4ever It all depends on when you're there. Sometimes there might be one train go by, another the opposite direction, and before that one is gone, there might be another one coming from the first direction--ya never know.

@crail4ever Yeah, it gets pretty loud, I don't side with the NIMBYs when it comes to horn bans, but I can see where they're coming from. I'd personally deal with it, but hey, if they want to put their fellow ignorant ass citizens at risk by not blowing the horn every time, fine by me. When a half dozen people get killed through there in the next year, it's not like the statistics didn't tell them that would happen 2 years ago when this work started.
