Greg Przywara at Booked for Murder 11/7/09 part one

I was going to upload the Goodman Center reading until I discovered that the videographer, who might not have been aware I was going to post the video to YouTube, had included shots of the middle schoolers in the audience. Even if she hadn't done this, my performance that day did not do justice either to myself or my work. My reading at Booked for Murder the following day was considerably more polished and relaxed-looking.

By day, die-hard Chicago sports fan Mark Crizlanek toils away at his thankless retail job. By night, he retreats to a subterranean shrine to Chicago sports. One night, he runs into an old high school buddy Trevor Gates, who brags about his new job with the online movie rental service Reel Speedy, which is really a front for a terrorist operation run by the most ruthless mob family in the Midwest, the Cappellas who eliminate their foes with IVD's (Incendiary Video Discs). Two hours later, Mark's secret soul mate Crystal Logan turns up murdered and he finds himself implicated in her death. In order to locate her killer, he is forced to become a Cappella hit man and team up with escaped school shooter Erik Stockton in an assassination plot against Jared Mendota, Mark's former employer. Enroute to the Mendota estate, Mark and Erik are apprehended by the same officers who arrested Mark for his lover's murder, but they manage to escape after the squad car crashes into a train. As they race down the street, they suddenly freeze as they hear the dissonant honk of Trevor's horn.
