hey which is the waterstone set you use and strop and compounds please i was watching carter Cutlery but you have won me over i will practice your style oh and what grit to purchase please your awesome thanx for sharing

@82775Smitty I've reached the top quality stones finally. Which are Naniwa Chosera stones. They are expensive but deserve the money. If you get other stones, you will think you are not good at water stone sharpening. But just after you get the Chosera stones, you will feel you are the best sharpener in the world. #400 for initial edge reprofiling, #800 for sharpening, and #3000 for finishing are recommended. And I use DLT two sided paddle strop and Bark River white compound. Thanks.

Our strap board, is that leather covered or some kind of sanding paper ? I live in the USA and I have a belt set, one belt in leather and one belt in nylon like belt that has a grit round 300. Does your strap board have a name ?
