A slideshow I (Stephanie Beaumont aka Edie Reinhardt aka Edie Nippoli - but not so much the last one anymore) put together , a sort of tribute to him set to his cover of Ocean by Lou Reed.

I wanted it to be something of a celebration of his life rather than a straight up display of mourning.

Some photos by Carbie Warbie (thank you!). Others are screencapped by myself from various sources. still others are scans and screencaps by my friends Wally, Prick, Gal and Michaela. The rest most likely came from the now defunct burning-heart.net and from recent news articles.

Most of these photos can be found on http://outta-the-black.webs.com/ - the RSH fansite.

  • Beautiful cover.Anybody knows from what album does this come ?

  • @TheWhowasit It was the b-side for the Autoluminescent 7"

  • Rowland was a hero and tremendous inspiration of mine. Though it was nice to see him finally getting nods and admirable write ups upon his death, I can't help feeling it's too little too late here in the States.

I'll always regret never meeting him, or seeing him perform.

    Bon voyage Rowland.

  • @midsentence

I feel the same way - it honestly made me a little angry at first - I wish he'd had people paying attention when he was alive.

  • thanks very much for this song, Edie! amazing..

  • @zuziki7

The thanks really goes to Rowland. <3

  • what a ""velvet" man...he was...

hope to meet him one day...

  • My guitar heroes: Keith Levene, Roland s Howard, Stephen Hanley, of course the great thing is that they weren't rock heroes at all just fucking brilliant!!!!

  • rowland was a very nice man , he gave me a ciggy at a nick cave concert a long time ago ,and he was playing as well

  • @midsentence Like I said in another vid that was a colab between Rowland and Nikki Sudden, American Radio anymore is just driven the corporates who just play the same old songs people have been listening to for the last thirty or forty years to pay attention to all the good music that never gets heard. So much gets missed. It is really really sad.

  • Breathtaking.

  • I just started listening to him a little while back and was absolutely amazed.
