Richard Elden is clearly obsessed by the maestro Waterman as he seems to have seen nearly every youtube clip of him. It's clear Minder is the greatest programme ever on British TV. The acting and observation were exemplary, the subtle touches sublime. Look at it compared to the embarassingly dated Professionals from the same era with it's ludicrous acting & one dimensional plotlines & characters. Minder is timeless. A masterpiece.

O'Toole was 100 times better than Waterman in this role. O'Toole looked the part, knew Jeffery and was himself a big drinker before his pancreas and half his stomach was removed in 1975.
