This is my artistic response to John Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath." This is a slideshow of photos taken during the Great Depression and Dustbowl - the period of time in which The Grapes of Wrath is set. Most, if not all of these photos were taken by Dorothea Lange, one of the many photographers hired by the WPA during the time. This video is split into two sections. The first, before the Isaac Asimov quote, is called "Dignity and Disaster." The second, after the quote, is titled "Hunger and Homelessness." Songs used: "Softly and Tenderly" by bluemitsu3000 (YouTube username) and "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues," by Chris Thomas King. I was 2 years old in 1929, I have never forgotten the Great Depression and I also lived through the Dirty 30s. I see some pictures from the Dirty 30s. The pictures bring a lot of good and bad memories, wonderful video.
