Until you've had any sort of run in with these things, don't try to defend them. Once you've lost pets/livestock to them that they didn't even have the decency to eat, just felt like killing, or been stalked by them, be my guest.
You just sound like another silly city kid who's closest animal experience of any kind was the pigeons outside of McDonald's. Take the time to actually educate yourself on the matter before opening your mouth, and much good will come of it.
