I see your fingers move but I don't hear anything.

heard the original version (just now, honestly), but this is not bad. actually, this is good. rock feeling on it, on top of the jazzy style.
would hate the bass part more (esp the solo), though the playing and melody is good, the colour is just =S

Not my cup of tea, but I can see how other people like it. To each his own I s'pose.

I find it ironic that there is a debate on what is and is not acceptable on a Coltrane tune, have we all mentally blocked out his later years. If he were to hear this he would probably say its refreshing.

Sounds fine to me. I've heard so much worse.

i was surprised at the fact that so many people (in this Internet age!) don't seem to have listened to fusion music, and are making an idiotic fuss about his guitar tone. sooooooooooooooooo pathetic.

haters gonna hate.
my ears tell me horrible tone, no harmonics, needless modulation, distant fake reverb and over-processed distortion...yuck, puke, barf.
the shame is this same YouTube would be absolutely georgeous if he slung an L5 in front of a vintage tweed twin or something along those lines. This gritty dirty tone modulation fucks it up for me...my taste, sorry if you disagree...but that's just me...I think his style, though, is extreme bad ass.
