the inova champion groove is my favorite and after that the vikings are bad as hell but if you want alot of curve the groove is great and the beast flys straight and then like drops just drops its awesome man

Welcome to Disc Golf. FOr someone just starting use the lighter weight discs 150 gram class if possible. FOr midrange I love my discraft FLX Buzzz. For drivers try a Beast, Sidewinder, Road Runner.
