Yeah and once I turned on my TV to see a message like this: "Attention: Advanced Services Not Available". It must mean something related to the UNAUTHORIZED message, I think. Like after that message went away, only the basic channels (1-99) were available. The next morning, the cable box was back to normal (1-900???)

Perhaps you should purchase a light globe before demonstrating this. Video is too dark.

well you won't get true hi-def with a tV that old so if you have to pay extra for the hD you'll get ripped off.

4:37, I've seen that message on your TV before. Let me guess, set-top box displays 4 dashes (----) at that time, right?

You're right about that and that occurs when the box is not activated (The boxes are automatically deactivated when the Customer fails to pay the bill, The customer wants the packages that require the boxes removed or wants all Cable service dropped altogether). The Cable Providers these days require the boxes be activated after hook up (Likely to prevent unauthorized usage).

Hi, I'm about to get a HD set box however my tv is quite old.. maybe 10 years old or more lol. I'm just wondering whether it would work or be worth it (quality) with an old tv like mine.
Any advice would be appreciated.

You Would Probably Be Better Off Buying A HD Set To Get HD Programming Sorry For The Wait.
