This is some footage I shot of the very weird town on the bank of the Salton Sea. Its a total ghost town, and even though there are cars in the footage, I only saw a handful of random people (who stared us down). This was a Saturday afternoon, and the bar was closed, mini mart boarded up, and the church yard looked like a prison yard!

  • its liek a ghost town, i was thinking of going there in a few weeksand takin the boat out

  • This video is nice, but motivates me to someday shoot some video of the Salton Sea nobody shows. It has the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets anywhere. There are also plenty of righteous houses on the shore with docks and a tiki look that is so cool. The birds alone are worth a video.

  • Those are the vehicle of ex-visitors!

  • im going there in a few weeks in an urban explorer

  • Probably the people who stared you down did it because a passing car was the only thing interesting to look at. ;)

But people keep saying the Salton Sea was some great playground years ago and I can't see how. Unless it's changed drastically since its golden age, I can't imagine wanting to go to a lake in the middle of a desert on vacation. But then, I've never understood wanting to go to a desert at all.

  • This song is sweeett!!!

  • i would RATHER live somewhere here than somewhere where the people are not freindly and no one knows their neighbors. this is what america should be. small freindly little towns with 4 well established businesses and a small neighborhood of a bunch of happy families.

i actually was there to film a movie a few days ago, and let me say, its much less intimidating than it looks. Salton Sea Beach is a small town filled with about 300 people who all know each other! :)

  • @mojave19 Do it. Do it. Friend me, I would love to see that.

  • Salton Sea was desolate for awhile. I am 27 and when I was 4 my family went to Salton Sea. We were doing our thing on the shore and the park ranger approached us. The ranger said towards my dad, "Hello Manny." (which is my dad's name.) My dad wondered how the ranger knew his name the ranger answered that my dad was the only one that singed on to the resort that weekend.

  • @smackyjack I feel exactly the same way!
