Gore had more votes, period. I can only imagine if Gore had been declared the winner in the Electoral College if Bush had more popular votes how these arguments would have played out. All of the Republicans would have cried about how unfair the system is and needs to be changed. I happen to think that the country would have been much better off had Gore been elected. We never would have went to war in Iraq and we wouldn't be in this huge financial crisis. Bush's deregulation put us there!

His so called stolen election in 2000 is about a truthful as his global warming campaign or his masseuse groping self telling others about his morality, or even his attempt to portray himself as a "man of the people" as the son of a TN Senator and born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

If SCOTUS overturned the FL result, the presidential election would have been thrown to the House, where each state's delegation would have had one vote - at the time, 27-23 GOP. Bush would have won. The VEEP goes to the Senate, one vote per senator - at the time, 50-50. Gore casts the tie-breaker...and we have Bush as president & Lieberman as VP. Bottom line, Bush would have won no matter what & Gore finally realized it. It was not a robbery. Source: 12th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
