  • I have a question, on my 05 6.0 PSD auto trans when i let off the pedal it goes quite till i hit the pedal or when it goes back to idle why does it do this and what is that called?

  • @cumminsallthaway It is called no fuel flow. While the engine is winding down there is no fuel.

  • hey bill I have installed a Racor 500FG on my 06 6.0, uses a 2010 micron element. Might be a better upgrade than the one you got there, I run a 30 Micron now

  • @TheSublimester89 You should be OK. The biggest thing you want from that filter is to separate all the water you can. The other two factory filters will take care of any debris that might pass.

  • I just plumbed mine in using Parker rubber lines to the fuel pump. Truck starved of fuel and died. Should I have filled the Racor with fuel first and then started the truck?

  • @spencnaz Probably got air in the system.

  • This guy is great!

  • Some good info to have: I recently found that Donaldson canister filters with 1"-14 threads will fit the Racor housings design for R-series filters.

I have a Racor 645 housing with a Donaldson P553203 filter on it. The P553203 is 8" tall drainable FF/WS rated at 3 micron absolute.

Knowing this interchange could be valuable out on the road.

  • Ok...I will.

  • He walked off.... LIKE A BOSS!!!

  • @powerstrokehelp Yeah I figured that. But what I don't understand is why the fuel pump won't pull fuel through the new lines and filter? Should I get a Racor with a priming pump?
