This is Hapkido sparring quite like Taekwondo sparring as they are both linked as one is the cousin of the other. In competition locks are banned for obvious reasons but sweeps and grapples are allowed. This is a sport side of the art of Hapkido. Enjoy. If you want the song follow this link and do what it says. http://www.ehow.com/how_4491371_rip-music-tube-videos.html

  • those kick dont look efective

  • @nevonja Trust me they are been KO'd a couple of times a kick doesn't have to be hard or fast it just has to hit the body in a certain way like a kick that whips the head back might not be a full speed kick but the head jerk motion could cause them to pass out. Also its a competition and no sportsman aims to destroy there opponent, just best them. Lets face it in real life you'd just kick your attackers knee out of joint, fast and not expected unlike a punch to the face.

  • No it is HapKiDo, TaeKwonDo doesn't have the grappling elements.

  • please nsomeone name the name of the song that starts at 2:13

  • @titogcuban new link on info part. You will have to rip the whole thing then edit it afterwards.

  • @nevonja you have to remember, the fight movies don't put things in exact context. the only way to do that shit and look that cool is to fight someone who has no training in martial arts and you have alot. these guys are trained to defend these attacks every day so when you have two very well trained people fighting agaist each other, its about the same as two people fighting that have no training, it kinda sucks.

  • this looks like taekwondo but u can kick anywhere

  • great vid!

  • a beautiful martial art

  • Interesting, shame there's no Hapkido Dojang within 100 miles of me! i got Kyokushin instead, OSU!!!!

  • @nevonja I assume you never took one lol

  • I would really like to see more punches in these fights. There are numerous occasions where the combatants are really close to each other, but they still try to do a roundhouse kick etc, instead of elbowing, kicking with the knee, or simply punching the opponent. I'm sure these guys can really kick ass but these fights really look more like demos.

  • i have watched this about 100 times in a day!!! so awesome!!! ps. i have green belt in hapkido :)
