The red algae Pterocladiella capillacea is a favored food of the Hawaiian green turtle in the Honokowai area of West Maui. This rare footage shows a honu burping up red mist from his Pterocladiella meal, something we have witnessed only three of four times in over 3500 dives spread over 22 years.
