World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - The Maelstrom

Just a quick video of the Maelstrom (It's that swirly thing in the middle of the map of azeroth for anyone that doesn't know) Not a whole lot to see but thought I'd post it up anyway.

It's not actually in the game world, it's in it's own instanced off area, not sure exactly how it'll be used or how we'll see it in game. It's been in the Cataclsym Alpha for a while, but pretty unfinished up until now.

Correction: This is not the swirly thing in the middle of the map of azeroth. The real Maelstrom is far bigger than this, spanning several countries. This is the entrance to Deepholm.

@TehLB Well, the entrance to Deepholm is meant to be the Maelstrom, at least during the questline with Thrall it's also called the Maelstrom. I'm guessing Blizzard couldn't make it as big as it should be, it's been argued about how it should be bigger.

@marcuspvxea The NDA has been lifted so it's fairly easy to research this and find that it is real. It's currently the entrance to Deepholm.

So you can go to the Maelstrom in Cata? Does that mean Nazjatar?

@Stargeek2006 In the beta right now I think you can only go to the area of the Maelstrom you see in the video, it's just being used as an entrance to Deepholm.

@TehDocc Well, if blizzard made it larger, how could anyone see the entirety of it unless if they had a really good computer? This is probably because they want the people with mediocre computers to see it al.

@TehLB There are a lot, and the one i have heard about is In Norway, and it is about 200 feet long, and goes to the bottom of the sea

i think this is supposed to be the maelstrom before the gateway between azeroth and deepholm was breached. thats why there isnt a red center in the middle of the maelstrom... right?

??? When i try to go from 11927 to the next one it wont update.
