Can a computer be used to apply floor finish?
This patented machine has a computer chip that allows it to apply floor finish the way a robot would! It puts out the same amount of finish on every wheel turn as the machine is pulled. A magnetic sensor on one of the wheels tells the pump to dispense the right amount of finish in front of the pad.
What is the right amount? You decide! For a gym floor where you are using an oil-based finish, you may want a heavy coat of 400 sq feet a gallon. If you are applying a water-based gym floor finish, you may want 700 sq feet per gallon coverage. For a tile floor, you may want 1,500 square feet per gallon coverage. How would you go about getting this type of specific coverage if you are using a T-bar applicator, or a mop and bucket? Using a Humm'V II, you can finally control finish coat thickness.
The mop pad on this machine is also patented. The mop pad is natural lamb's wool surrounded on 3 sides with micro-fiber yarns. The result is that finish gets applied evenly without streaks, without start and stop lines, and with virtually invisible overlaps.
