Why would you hope they feel embarrassed? The letter made me a bit sad because the person didn't sound very happy, but I don't know why we are in a rush to judge each other so harshly.

thats rather lovely i think, i dont think its something to be made fun of. naturally you might feel a bit strange on recieving such a letter, but i think it would be something rather touching. odd, but touching. this person is putting trust in someone they are fond of, i think its sweet. i agree with the comment below me, the writer just wanted someone to talk to.

@Ynno2 people love to laugh at weakness, frailty, awkwardness etc. in others. It makes them feel big & important, even though it's more pathetic than what they are laughing at. I think the person who wrote the letter just wanted somebody to talk to, even if it's just a letter that will never get a reply.

Having seen Nick read out loud in person, I'm going to go with the latter. Keep in mind that it's written on the back of a chocolate wrapper.

"Ali Baba", Didn't get the timing quite right so it got cut a bit. Yes, I am guessing it was in reference to the writer of the letter.
