Glorious WORLD FIRST, finished Crysis 2 on a 55 inch 3D TV.

(Yep, my laptop, friend playing. The glowy blue thing is the mouse.)

This is my little benchmark of the Asus G53JW-A1, since there are no real good (accurate) ones. This is the truest/closest benchmark you can find, by that i mean it really shows off what this thing can do at real performance, since most of the videos the laptops haven't even been cleaned up/optimized for gaming.

The recording was done with the game settings on the LOWEST (Gamer), which is a little better than what xbox and playstation 3 get. (ha-ha!) and at 1280x720. Fraps was recording at 60 FPS with the highest quality settings (full screen).

What would happen usually when fraps records at these settings is the framerate would drop and playing would be very difficult. BUT this laptop's quad core (with hyper threading (8 cores)) CPU allowed me to play and record at the same time with almost no penalty in framerate. If fraps was turned off, the game would run flawlessly.

While I was playing the framerate was never less than 45 FPS and was max at 60 FPS (The game engine runs at 60 FPS by default unlike CoD and it's 91 FPS engines, but the game was made FOR 60 FPS so it feels really really really smooth and reactive)

I specifically chose Crysis 2 because it's the most visually impressive game I could think of, even at it's lowest settings. Also: I know that Crytek might be on my ass for posting this.

Game: Crysis 2 Beta
Programs used: Fraps, Adobe Premiere CS5

Asus G53JW-A1 specs:

System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
CPU: Intel core i7-740 QM (1.73 Ghz but with turbo boost (automatic-clocking) it goes up to 3.0 GHZ)
GPU: Nvidia GTX460m (m series, it's not as powerful as it's big bro the GTX460, but it's pretty close)
HDD: 750 GB
RAM Memory: 6GB 1333 Mhz

If anybody is thinking of getting this laptop and has any further questions or requests for benchmarks of this laptop or such, send me a message. This is truly the best bang for buck gaming laptop out there. Don't even think of going for Alienware, because seriously, do you need multi color LEDs? -.-'

(PS: Any suggestions/rendering settings for HD, please send them my way. :O)

  • Alienware was cool, but now dell owns them. You wanna play pc games on a dell?

  • Alienware is a overpriced piece of shit.

  • you should have gotten alienware!

  • @89backbone Sure, but I hope you're at least a little tech savvy. xD

  • @VladaMucak93

ok man..thanks for your reply :)

can i msg u in the future bout tech esp. computer?

  • @89backbone It's alright man.

Uhm, it's a quad core that overclocks itself if need be (up to 3.4 GHz). It has hyper threading so programs that use multiple cores will have the benefit of 8 cores (8 cores show up in task manager, it looks beastly).

I am not sure how it compares, type in "CPU benchmarks" on google and check the first link. Look for the CPU's there. High end.

i saw your specs are i7 740QM, is it quad core? how bout compare to the i7 2630? sorry for disturbing you :)

  • @89backbone It can get good FPS on medium. Haven't tested maximum.

  • @VladaMucak93 do you play elder scroll v skyrim? can it run with maximum?

  • @89backbone Not at maximum.
