This is so wonderful. It's amazing that the voice still sounds not a little bild old. Was there ever a singer in the history of opera, who not only sang Norma and Zerbinetta but also the Lucia for over 35 years? And Gruberova is still studying new parts. In a recent interview she mentioned Bellinis La straniera as a possible new part! BRAVA L'UNICA!

She's outstanding! This aria is usualy what she gives after the regular part of the concert, 1st one she gives. Heard her sing this in Zurich in 2008 and in Vienna in december 2009. Superb!

Perfetta!!!
Edita Gruberova had a great evening. For me the highlight was the aria from Thomas Hamlet - on of the most difficult pieces for the sopranos voice. I never heard a singer live or on records, who has such unbelivable pianissimi and the loudest possible forte at the same time! She is the only singer at the moment, who's technique could be described as superhuman. Without any effort she filled the big hall of this festival. By the way: she will be the Norma at the next Salzburg Festival!!!!
