  • We played this album in the barracks at Clark AFB in the Phillipines in 1964,,,thanks to a fellow Airman from Alameda, Ca...

  • @6925thcobras It takes a personal memory such as your own to make posting these songs worthwhile. thank you.

  • Gosh, I haven't heard this for a long time!! Do you happen to have the one about Billy Sol Estes? I think it's called The Ides of Texas, but I might be wrong.

  • @sparky47a I have been able to purchase a library of over 25,000 albums and 45 singles...and am going through them all. Chad Mitchell Trio have more than one album in the collection...and I will see what I can find.

  • I really didn't think they would even be on here! Thanks! I have (I think) all their record-but nothing to play them on! I checked it out cuz Tell Old Bill and Cherry Tree Carol have been going round and round in my head. Thanks for this one!

  • would you like more from these guys?

  • Thank you so much! Chad Mitchell was my favorite and has not been replaced. I put in a request for Ain't No More Cane on the Brazos.

  • @6925thcobras In 1964 my father was stationed at Sangley Point. My mom loved folk music and I must have heard this song and others by Chad Mitchell Trio hundreds of times. My mom and a couple of guys my dad worked formed the Cebu Arts Trio, doing a repertoire based largely, of course, on Peter, Paul and Mary's. They had some success for a year or so. Did you ever happen to hear them? @4thLOVEofVINYL -- a million thanks for song! Memories are making me dizzy.

  • Is this not the Kingston Trio? They sound eerily alike, but the Chad Mitchell Trio does mainly comedy, I think.

  • @njva17420 I think it was called Chad Mitchell - Himself

    He also did a great job on Marieke, a Jaques Brel song, on that album. Chad has an incredible voice. I think the CMT was the most dynamic of the folk groups. Lots of energy, and with the Limelighters, definitely the best voices.

  • @njva17420 Also "Violets of Dawn."

  • Have you come upon an LP by Chad called "Chad Mitchell, On His Own" (or something like that)? I have not seen it on YouTube yet, and I think my album is buried away somewhere. This was from post-Trio days (obviously). I saw the Mitchell Trio when John Denver was with them after Chad left (never heard why they split up). Anyway, Chad did a nice job with songs like "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?" and "It's Dark as a Dungeon Way Down in the Mine."

  • My two favorites from Chad mitchell that you NEVER hear,but are fantastice songs!!;

    We're your friendly Liberal neighborhood Klue Klux Klan (banned in the south)

    The twelve days of christmas (song as Germans), very funny and satiric

  • @4theLOVEofVINYL Thank you for looking!
