Cthulhu Trailer - H.P. Lovecraft

Adapted from a story by H.P. Lovecraft. A Seattle history professor, drawn back to his estranged family on the Oregon coast to execute his late mother's estate, is reaquainted with his best friend from childhood, with whom he has a long-awaited tryst. Caught in an accelerating series of events, he discovers aspects of his father's New Age cult which take on a dangerous and apocalyptic significance.

@dsadico well dude im just gonna say. What separates Cthulhu from jesus? a different dude wrote a book about them? what if the pope had written Call of Cthulhu? Then it would be like Jesus was the Cthulhu and anyone who believed in jesus would be like people who believe in Cthulhu now. im just saying dude. im a pagan and i believe in all sorts of gods. sure Cthulhu's not one of them. i wish people would be more tolerant. let the Cthulhu cultists alone their people too!

I've seen many so called Lovecraft films and this one, although having more in common with the Shadow Over Innsmouth, is a fantastic film.

Here's hoping Guillermo Del Toro really does make a film adaptation of At the Mountains of Madness.

The vast majority of people making rude comments here have not seen this film. It is honestly the best Lovecraft film I've ever seen. It perfectly distills all of his themes and motifs. Lovecraft is not about a giant squid. It's about the futility of humankind fighting against a universe that doesn't give a damn about our existence. This isn't an adaptation of a single Lovecraft book but combines elements of several. As for the gay jokes, what are you, 12 years old? Grow up.

We all know what WWJD is...What Would Jesus Do? I think a more appropriate question would be WWCD? What Would Cthulhu Do?....the answer? Does it matter? No one would survive anyway!

Four reasons why this got 40 dislikes:

1. Cthulhu wasn't shown in the trailer.

2. Main character's name wasn't Francis.

3. Setting wasn't early 1900's.

4. Tori Spelling is in it.......

@VoodooPolitico Nobody? It's been up all over the net for at least a couple of years. You're not missing anything though. The story has nothing at all to do with Cthulhu, it's based more on The Shadow Over Innsmouth and Dagon. The movie sucks and its hero gets to do some sucking too/
