  • What physical training do AMT's have to do?

  • whats the point of qualifying for secret security clearance?

  • That's insane if what she said was true. My A&P schooling is a joke compared to this.

  • @FiskJaguar You will be stationed at a operational unit as an airmen. 95% of the Airstations are operational, I was stationed in San Juan PR and when my time came to go to the airmen program I was sent to Clearwater Fl as it was the nearest airstation with openings for airmen. There I lived on the economy till I went to A school at ATTC where I then lived the barracks for the students. So it usually you will be sent to the nearest airstation for your 4 month Airmen program.

  • @sdopfel Lol no they do not wear dress uniforms while performing maintence... I found that part funny about this video. Flight Engineer/Mechanic is a qualification not a job rating, You are selected by your peers if they think you are capable to handling the responsibilitys of the qualification and then you begin the process of becoming qualified.

  • @FiskJaguar

It depends. One of the seaman on my boat went AET and because our parent command is an air station he was simply given orders to the air station "down the road". That's probably what will happen to me when I get my orders.

If the airman-to-be isn't already at an air station then I'm sure they would have to move to an air station. As far as housing goes, if the air station doesn't have barracks, then the member lives on the economy, i.e. an apartment, on the government's dime.

  • Do they really wear their dress uniforms while working the helos? Seems a little posed!. Anyway, does everyone get to be a flight engineer or is that different?

  • Throughout all the training (four month airmen program, then the ATTC in NC, and apprentice program) how will living be for the applicant? Since the four month airmen program is at any operational air station, will they station the trainee in Elizabeth City, NC since after 4 months they will go there for ATTC?

  • depends what airframe your on. I'm on the HU-25 Falcon and I fly 5-15 hours a week

  • how often do get to fly as a air crewman
