Fisker Karma. As of the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, California-based Fisker Automotive continues to maintain that their exotically styled plug-in hybrid will begin shipping at the end of 2009 with a starting price of $80,000. We hope so. Fisker claims the Karma will deliver 50 miles of range on electricity alone, after which a gasoline or diesel engine takes over to extend range up to 600 miles. Promising performance figures include zero-to-60-mph sprints of less than six seconds and a top speed beyond 125 mph. An optional full-length solar roof can charge the battery and keep the Karma cool when parked. For more new car reviews, interviews and automotive news visit kbb.com today.
