Beautiful, just beautiful weapon.. I've now got the urge to buy a DeLorean and go back in time...

You would be the most badass pirate if you owned one of those xD

@Kaospojken94 Not as heavy as it might look, or you might think with two locks and all. I don't have a decent set of scales, or I'd weigh it for you...

I bought one of these from Middlesex Trading Village and was disappointed at quality the craftsmanship. Just wondering, how did yours turn out?

@MrSockhands I'm thrilled with it, actually. The closest thing I can come to a complaint about it is that it is very particular about the flints -- they have to be very sharp and positioned just so.

@thtrgoon Try flipping the flint over. Sounds crazy but its worked for me in the past.

@MrSockhands Oh, I have! I've flipped the flints both ways -- I've lately discovered what actually works best is a larger flint knapped down a bit, such as a flint from one of my larger pieces re-sharpened enough times to shorten it somewhat.

Beautiful gun, your lock time seems very slow but it could just be the camera. I dont know if your using real black powder but it is essentially a must for good flint lock performance. I tried pyrodex once and it was terrible, low power, bad hang fires and many misfires.

@saxonforge Thanks for the comment, saxonforge -- I am using Pyrodex for the most part. Good eye on spotting it. I don't have ready access to actual black powder, without buying in bulk online, so I'm gritting my teeth and bearing the drawbacks to the "black powder substitutes."
Since I'm mostly just target-shooting, I can live with that for now, and using my small hoarded supply of real BP when I really need it.
