GREENPEACE SHIP 87

The Waterboys live on board the Greenpeace ship Sirius, Dublin docks, 22 May 1987. Waterboys film editor Mick Puck says: 'Folks, this is probably the worst shot piece of film in the history of rock - filmed by a bystander who must have never held a camera before. I've done what I can with it. Still, it captures something of the magic of the day, and the spirit of the times. I hope you enjoy.' Band members: Mike Scott, Anto Thistlethwaite, Steve Wickham,Trevor Hutchinson, Vinnie Kilduff, Fran Breen.

this is Heartwarming for me......I had just given Mike a Greenpeace poem exactly one year earlier at a Dutch pop festival whereby Steve Wickham invited me to meet the band!! Of course I was a bit nervous....I mean...what a musician that Mike! A very special voice.....and great instrumentalist.........bravo boy's

Adam Clayton arrived in a classic car to watch the show...Dave Fanning announced it on his radio program, which led to 100's turning up (if not 1000s)..BP Fallon was running around taking the photos..mostly from the top deck of the ship..would love to see some of those also..please please post more of this..haven't seen myself yet but I know where I was in the crowd.

I cannot believe that there is a video of this.I knew BP Fallon was there on board taking photos which went on the Fishermans Blues Album but an actual video. I was there on that May evening, with the sun going down over Dublin...waited from about 4pm when we first saw the sign on the Greenpeace ship till about 8pm when the concert started - absolutely brilliant memories of this concert..I would love to see you post more video from this- doesn't matter how bad the quality
