actually they are "willing" to flip...as a real attack situation..if you resist..you have a new broken limb. As for being out there to grab? This is a demonstration. Just like in Karate they demonstrate people doing high-kicks. In a real life situation 90% of your opponents won't be doing high-kicks. It's pushed out in a far distance to show the audience what you're doing. Look up other forms. Also, no 1 martial art is good by itself. I mix Aikido with Open-Hand Escrima.
It is beautiful but this is a totally compliant attacker. He holds himself out to get grabbed and is not really even attacking. Also he is more than willing to get thrown. This is artistic but not representative of real work and real attack....merely a pretty demonstration not fighting.
