@Jstar141957 To be an African American...you need to be AMERICAN...No black CANADIAN or EUROPEAN or any other country is gonna say they are african american. Chances are an American will be the one using this term. Often times i find white ppl outside of AMERICA only use this term cause they think its offensive if they call them BLACK...its not.

Crackbaby + Political Correctness= "disadvantaged minority youth born from cocaine dependent mothers"

Wendy You DID NOT NEED TO CHURN THAT PART OF HER LIFE or you could have been more intelligent - had she been a crack head ok - but good grief lady show some intelligence on your show - every thing does not have to feed on or off sound bites - crack baby was just you going for the punch line for the edge - well you fell off into the abyss of mediocrity - tasteless mediocrity. I hope you feel this; You are pulling Joan Rivers in Black face - that old vaudevillian routine that was never tasteful

Blacks around the world have the right to refer to themselves as African American ------------->, Irish, British, Greek, Romanian, Chinese, Brazilian and etc. It is simply a term that recollects ones African ancestry while also including a national and cultural identity. I don't know why Wendy is trippin!

@repmyclass2010 Most "black" people do not know anything about African culture. Most of their ancestors have been in America for generations. Who cares what people decide to label themselves. We all belong to the HUMAN RACE!

Migrating to a foreign country really does take its toll on people.I was born in Brazil and my father was from Greece(this is where my wife and kids live these days), lived in New York for 15 years, and that's where my 3 children were born.Today, although others might say to us ,we have so many advantages, knowing so many languages, I gotta tell you , it's not easy to adapt to a new society.I can see this in the U.S where minorities still have psychological issues.
@repmyclass2010 "I refuse to identity human beings as colors out of a Crayola coloring box...."
Then don't? Call them by their name, or just Americans, or people. If there is a need to identify specifically the skin color, then the "Crayola" words do seem the most useful way to do so without also making additional huge incorrect generalizations.
